When should i put pegnant black molly in breeding tank?

16 November 2008 Comments

Hey,
I bought two black mollies (male & female) from pet store about a week ago. The person in the store said the female might already be pregnant. She has grown alot over the past week and i wanted to know when i should put her in the breeding tank.
Thanks

If she is getting big and she was pregnant when you bought her i would put her in now. This will cut down on the stress of the move when it is time to give birth and give her a rest from the male. (my male always chases the female). This way you will have more fry and less stress!

Now would be a good time to move her to the breeding tank, make sure that there are a lost of plants, both to lessen the stress of the female and to provide hiding place for the fry when they are born.
