Why is my dalmation molly now completely black?

12 November 2009 Comments

i had two dalmation mollies and two black mollies. One of each color died a while ago, but i’ve noticed that the dalmation molly i had left now has no more spots and is a somewhat smaller version of the completely black molly. Do they have the ability to change color due to the other fish in their environment? I’m just curious as to what happened.

This is perfectly normal. Over time, Dalmations lose their spots. This isn’t anything to worry about.
