Can a chinese algae eater go with dwarf african frogs?

30 January 2009 Comments

I have a four inch chinese algae eater in a 55 gallon. Would it eat dwarf african frogs if I put them in the tank?

I wouldn’t. There’s a high-risk that the CAE would attack the frogs, either by sucking on their skin or nibbling off their eyes. Your CAE is getting to the size where it’ll begin to show aggressive tendencies.

I don’t see why not, as long as you have many caves and plants in your tank for hiding! African Dwarf frogs are interesting to watch and usually hide, most of my fish leave them alone!

Probably so. Chinese algae eaters can be aggressive.
