He has gotten to agressive for my neons. Can he stay without a heat source in another tank over night?

overnight in a warm room, yes :)
They are known for turning on fish as they grow and often suck fish to death, but people never tell you that when you buy them! I would take it back to the store you got it from and complain.

Yes but if you are introducing him into a new tank with cooler water do this slowly.

Try making sure he has pleanty of places to hide.

They should be kept singly, and can get very territorial and agressive as it ages. Do not keep with Flat Bodied Slow moving fish, as these fish can be very tempted to attack tankmates. Watch out especially when they reach their 8" mark.

You should cover the container your holding him in with a towel or blanket to keep the heat in.

I have a chinese algea eater, and he has never gotten aggressive. Do you have a tank ordament he can hide in?

Chinese Algae eaters need heaters over the day and night. These fish are tropical and need to be warmed near 70 - 80 F. These fish are territorial so this might explain his aggression.
