Harlequin rasboras?

16 November 2008 Comments

I just recently purchased a few Harlequin Rasboras and I have noticed that they will nip at each other when one gets too close. I have read all about them being a schooling fish so I thought it was kinda of strange to see the aggression. Can anyone explain?
I bought 5 the other day but one little guy died already…looked weak and stayed to himself.

Hmm.. that is kind of strange. How many did you get?
We only have 4 harlequins (also have 4 porkchop rasboras as well though).. and I have never seen any of the rasboras be aggressive towards well.. anything. They are the most peaceful bunch of fish I’ve ever seen.

Stupid question, but are you positive that what you got is in fact harlequin rasboras?

Maybe if you didn’t get enough of them, they just need a few more buddies to even out aggression.
