16 November 2008 Comments

My 12 gallon tank will have some:

cory cats

what is one showy fish that can live by itself (no need for schooling, a "loner" that I can add to the tank?

you can throw a male betta in that mix, he will be fine and not mess with your other fish.

you can also try a dwarf gourami, but those guys can be mean sometimes.

You could get a male guppy, a molly, gouromis (which by the way are usually fine and not mean at all I have 5 different kinds in with my guppy, various tetras and a gold fish), You could do a betta but mine ate all my neon tetras so had to go in a tank by himself.a platy or a swordtail.

One of the larger killifish like Blue Gularis or Golden Wonder would be a good one to add.

A betta, a congo tetra (even though a tetra, seems to do fine alone)… of course a good male swordtail can look really nice.

A male betta or a dwarf gourami (male). Either one is a good choice and a flashy colorful fish.
