I am planning on getting a 55 gallon fish tank with angelfish and i would like some suggestions?

I am planning on putting in 4 angelfish, corydoras catfish, and a shoal of harlequin rasboras. What fish would work well with these? What fish should i use to cycle my tank?

I wouldn’t get more species of fish. Just stock your supply of the fish you are getting!

congo tertras are good with angels
    go slow adding fish
    start with two catfish
wait at least ten days before adding additional fish
    test for ammonia and nitrates
    good luck

Danios and mollies are the only fish hardy enough to cycle the tank, so buy a few danios that will make your permanent fish. You can also buy 2 or 3 mollies. They are peaceful fish that go well with all the mentioned fish. Also if you want an algae eater, you have to buy a bristlenose pleco. It’s a peaceful and small pleco, around 6 inches maximum. Be sure to add the other fish that you mentioned when the tank is fully cycled, add the cory cats first because they are the most timid and shy, next the harlequin rasboras, followed by the bristlenose pleco, then lastly the angelfish. Give them one week interval before adding the next fish.
